4 Months

I'm going to have to start buying maternity clothes soon.

15 Weeks

I had my 15 week appointment on July 16th. Mike was unable to go with me because he had class and you can only miss NTL class if it is a life or death situation. So I asked my mom to come with me and my MawMaw came along too. First we went to buy new bras! Yep that's right I had to go up a size. For someone who has had pecs most of her life this was a very big deal. Then we headed to the appt. After showing Dr. Gorman my insane case of poison ivy he said that he wanted to give great grandma a treat and he sent us to get a sonogram! I was so sad that Mike wasn't there, but the only reason we were able to do this was b/c of MawMaw. It was unbelievable! Yes, the baby looked like an alien but it was still amazing. :) It was moving so much the technician could hardly take a picture of it. It's already a little athlete in there. She asked if we wanted to know what it was, but we are going to wait until the big day. I can't believe you can tell what it is at only 15 weeks! We go back August 20th for our 20 week appt.! We get to have another sonogram and I'm so happy Mike will be there this time.

Steamboat Arabia

Check out all of the stuff behind us!

The Cotton Anniversary

We celebrated our 2 Year Anniversary in Kansas City!!!! Two years has flown by...I hope Mike can say the same. :) We took a tour of Steamboat Arabia. It was a pre-civil war steamboat that sank in the Missouri River with 220 tons of cargo on it and not recovered until 1988. 220 tons of cargo was a lot of stuff. Being the history nerd that I am it was great to see all of those items in great condition. We had our anniversary dinner at a nice restaurant in the Power & Light District. Yes, named for us. :) We both got fat steaks and devoured them. The next day we ate some more...I was completely content, but Mike kept saying he was still full from each meal before. We went to a famous BBQ place called Arthur Bryant's. Fabulous bbq and really funny rude wait staff. It was in kind of a Memphis looking area of town and we almost didnt' go in until we saw all of the people going in and out of the joint. A lot of famous people have eaten there. We ended the trip with a stop at The Plaza shopping area. We bought some tops as our Cotton gifts to each other. Mike was a wonderful husband and drove there and back and let me sleep. Looking forward to number 3 next year. What's the gift for that year? I hope it's better than cotton...

The Naturals

The fam went to a Naturals game to celebrate Father's Day. We ate nachos, pretzels, and peanuts. You know...baseball game staple foods. Oh and the boys had some beer. My dad explained the game of baseball to my adorable husband who comes from a cricket playing country. :) It was a lot of fun.

Ultrasound heartbeat today!

Jennifer & I met Jen's mum & dad at the clinic today to go and hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. We waited for about 1:30hr until we got to hear it, but it was all worth the wait when we heard that whoosh, whoosh at 165 beats per minute. A good strong heart beat. I should have recorded the sound, but maybe get a visual/chance next time we go in there in about 3 weeks.

Ultrasound 1 - Six Weeks

We got to see the heartbeat today. The area between the two white x's is the little bean. The entire thing was flickering. It was amazing!

Two Lines

I had some symptoms and we had a pregnancy test at home, so I thought what the heck I'll wee on the stick before I jump in the shower. When I got out of the shower I looked at the stick and low and behold there were two lines. One of them was really faint and so I convinced myself that it was the steam that made it appear. :) I called Mike into the bedroom and said Happy Early Birthday...I think...as I showed him the stick. He looked stunned. We decided we wanted a second opinion and went to the store for another test. We came home...I wee'd...stick said PREGNANT!!!

"Dorothy Mantooth is a Saint"

We finally decided to get a puppy...a bichon frise! She was finally old enough to take home over Spring Break. We decided to name her, Dorothy Mantooth, and call her 'Dot' for short. It comes from a line out of one of the all time best movies ever - Anchorman!

Champ Kind: I will smash your face into a car windshield, and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out for a nice seafood dinner and never call her again. Wes Mantooth: Dorothy Mantooth is a Saint! Ron Burgundy: Hey, let's leave the mothers out of this.
